I don't think either band would have intentionally copied the other. With that out of the way, I offer you that Mushroomhead was developed with a similar style of jumpsuits and masks that is used by both bands today in 1993. Slipknot, formed in 1996, originally didn't have the same jumpsuits and masks style, and were a band based on a roleplaying game. For the 1997 release of Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. by Slipknot, the only mask the original lead singer wore was a belt type thing around his head. It wasn't for at least 5 years that Slipknot surfaced. While gaining more popularity than Mushroomhead and more rapidly, 'Shroom did it first.

No,Mushroomhead at least has some rhythem and structureing in the music.Slipknot is spaztic noise.
