I got a hospital bill..$1788.21. The name and street are right, but the city and zip code are wrong. Somehow I got the bill. Can I get out of paying since the address is partly wrong? I never signed anything at the hospital. I do not want to(and cant really)put it on insurance.

If you don't pay, they will still find you. They have your name and address.

Someone at the Post Office probably knows you by name (even if not personally) and they will always try to get any mail to the right person even is the address is wrong. If they know where you're at then the hospital will find you also.

If the post office delivered the bill, the address was good enough for one government agency. Do you want to test you luck with another? I notice you did NOT claim the bill was not yours. You are just looking to skip out on a technicality.

Did you not receive the care, do you really want to have them bring you to court, and you will end up adding court costs to the total as well.

You received the medical procedure you should pay up, why don't you want to pay, do you do that with all your bills. You may be able to make arrangements with the hospital administration regarding monthly payments if you can't afford to pay all at once.

If you have insurrance why can't you put it on your insurance.

The important thing is, do they have your social security number? If so you're going to have to pay or your credit is ruined. Your address means nothing. Maybe it was you, maybe it wasn't, maybe it was you and you've moved since. It has nothing to do with your identity, but your social, that's another story.

They got you and they'll get their money some way. Best you can do is stall. Work out a payment plan before you have to pay collection/atorrney fees, too.

You will always owe it and they will send you threatening letters but honestly you don't HAVE to pay. It would be the right thing to do though since you received care.
