Hello Andrea C,

Are you English by any chance? Leaving your homework until the last minute is quite stereotypical of English schoolchildren...

I found this link which should help you. It covers a lot of English stereotypes:

http://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/questions/stereotypes.htm

At the bottom of the page, if you click on: "Back to more questions about England" then scroll down, you'll find links for more information about the English way of life.

Good luck with it.

theres a great book out on the subject by called watching the english by Kate Fox.

Typical mannerisms of the English include the Talking about of the weather and this is built into us, used as an ice breaker amngst one of its use, bit to complex to write down here you need to read the book.

But you are looking for stereo types

Lots

Football Holligans
Building contractors
singles mums
The Commuter
The scallywag (friendly rogue)
Loads more including the Lazy Student so get to work

Up tight, uncomfortable with expressing feelings. Tea fanatics. Bad cooks (ie: everything overcooked and made of starch). On the plus side: Fantastic comedians and everyone has a strong sense of nonsense. Great imaginations.

Of course, these are stereotypes -- look at Nigella if you want a good cook. And I know there are some Brits with absolutely no imagination whatsoever.

I really think you should contact the Office of National Statisitics to let them advise you. as to why they omitted the 'English' from the last official census.
You are a stereotype of a plagarist! if you use other peoples words instead of your own. So I hardly think that is the english way to do things

Apparently we have bad teeth, queue for anything and quite possibly lots of us wear bowler hats.

I've heard that they are stuffy. And they are not known for their cuisine. However, stereotypes being what they are I wouldn't believe them.

Peace.
