My friend, ur looking at this the wrong way, first, unless u work for the FBI or something u wont be able to check her file to see whether she has been charged with prostitution. However that wouldnt really matter because if she really is a prostitute she might have never been caught, and even if she is there is nothing wrong with it, u should be more concerned whether she is a drug dealer or a murderer which she doesnt seem to be by the looks of your question, u could always try asking her some indirect questions like if she knows a street where prostitutes hang around or something like that , in order to get a few clues, but if really want to be sure just ask her and stop being a chicken ur putting ur child in the hands of someone u think to be "potentially harmful" just because ur too scared to ask her about what she does or has done for money, even though there is nothing wrong with a girl being a ho.

As some have replied, you can check your local courthouse, as these records are indeed public (I think juvenile records are the only ones that may not be public due to the age). You can also check the local "police blotter" which has been made available in many cities - I've checked on relatives that way. These are free and available to the public as they are a matter of PUBLIC record.
Good idea to be curious whether this person has a record or not, as you said, especially being around your child.

I don't know where you live, but, where I live there is a web called "Casenet.com". That is through the court system here and if you go into it, you type in the person's name and you can find out if anyone has a record, if so and judgement has been made what happened.
This is probably not the web for every court, so you might want to call your court and see what, or if, they have something like that.

Try a Google web search for "search (state) court records." For instance, in Oklahoma, a Google search for "search Oklahoma court records" gives a bunch of search results, one of which leads to a state supreme court website that lets you type in someone's name, and you'll learn a lot, even about traffic licenses, small claims lawsuits, and more. Just do not tell her that you're checking on her, or she'll get furious. (I learned that the hard way.) By the way, you might want to do a similar court records search for yourself, and see what people can find out about you. And if you want to pay for a search, there are lots of websites that will give you court records and more for a fee. It might be worth it ... but again, don't tell her.

background check costs $23 here. It's amazing what you can find for free if you look around the sherriffs web site. Correctional facilities tell you alot too. News paper tells you of court hearings.

my local government has prostitution arrests on their website but they may only be recent arrests. Also check your local judicail records they should also be online and there free. i used them to find out that my sister was caught with maryjane that was exciting.

Your best bet may be to be honest and OPEN.... ask the girl in question. You may be able to help her change paths if that is what she wants.
in teh end I do NOT think that PROSTITUTION should be illegal... I may not really advocate such but hey it is a person's CHOICE

Are you hiring her as a babysitter? You don't get probation for that type of charge. But maybe you can get some type of background check done. It's really not fair of you to go behind her back and do it though....

if there is any criminal offence on her all you have to do is go down to the police station and ask to have her name checked by law they have to tell you
