What percentage do you really listen to others?
I really want to understand this...

I do have this problem. This is the truth.
Sometimes, I catch myself interrupting the other person before they are finished speaking.
It can be embarrassing, and uncomfortable.
I have even told the doctor about this problem.
I take medication to slow myself down, then sometimes I do not understand the question they are asking, and that is another embarrassment.
I know you are going to get several comments, but this is the truth and I am not afraid to admit it, even though it is wrong.

Well, it depends on who is talking and what the topic is. Listening is an art, to be a good communicator you have to be a good listener.
And in listening you can't assume you understand what you hear, you have to mirror back the question with "what I understand you are saying is _____"
That way, the person talking knows you are listening, and want to understand their talking point. Additonally it keeps the boss ( my wife ) happy.

Jane unfortunately most men have selective hearing . And yes Im guilty of it although Im working at being a better listener . When talking to a man being discriptive might help

Jane, truthfully about 25%. I get accused all the time for not hearing things people say to me. I tend to tune most of them out. Does that help?

I do listen when I'm around others. But maybe thats why I like so few people.

i always listen to what the ladies say. but with my guy friends it depends.
