I learned an easy way to do this at a scrapbooking workshop at Archivers. Take an off white or ivory piece of paper and then crumble it randomly. Once it is well crumbled, then smooth it out. Around the edges and on the lines that you have crumbled, lightly rub a brownish colored chalk or stamp. This will lend an aged look to the paper. Once you have done this, then you can either write on it or glue photos etc to it which will give your project an aged look. If I were writing on it, I would probably do it in calligraphy with pen and ink to give it a more authentic look. Aging your paper this way is relatively simple and inexpensive. Good luck!

First, before you write anything, soak it in water and then dry it off. Take a pen, ballpoint (it makes smudges and clots of ink) and write whatever topic you are doing it on. Then take a lighter and burn the edges off to make it look like its been through some damage. Finally, brush some coffee drink onto it (maybe dip a towel into the coffee and pat the paper).
Hope that Helps!!

You can buy paper that looks like old fashioned vellum in the stationery section of most department stores. It's usually yellowish or brown and has a bumpy look to it. You'll probably need to buy at least ten sheets, though you'll just need a couple.
You can also make things look old by choosing an old English style font on your computer. Scroll through your fonts and find something that looks like squiggly type they use for the name at the top of the front page (the masthead) of many newspapers.

they're right about burning the edges. i've found using the top of a stove instead of a lighter works best. that way you can get the middle of the paper too without setting the entire thing on fire.

Parchment paper. Go to a stationary store, or Walmart, or Walgreen's, or Office Depot. Sheesh.
