why do they not carried guns and only cans of mase? I've met and talked with a real bounty hunter and he carries multiple guns on him while going for an arrest.

"Dog" is a felon. He spent time in a Texas prison and cannot legally carry a gun. Personally, I would not be a bounty hunter without a gun of at least .40 caliber. My back-up gun might be a .380, but not my primary weapon.

Most of the people Dog goes after are druggies. I suppose they don't pose a real threat or carry weapons like guns therefore Dog and his crew don't need to carry any either.
Perhaps the bounty hunter you spoke with goes after more threatening criminals and needs more protection.
