The ancient Egyptians were people who lived along time ago (4000-6000 years ago) in... well... Egypt, believe it or not.

They built a massive but largely agricultural civilization along the banks of the Nile in northeastern Africa. At various times, they controlled land extending from what is now Libya along the southern and eastern Mediterranean Sea into the Levant.

The Egyptians were an ancient superpower, from time to time, but for one reason or another their current cultural influence is not as large as the Greeks or Romans. They did contribute good work on astronomy, bureaucracy, and fantastic works of engineering and agriculture, but their society and government was largely eclipsed by the Greeks, and Egypt ceased to be any kind of world power in the last few centuries BC.

The one contemporary culture which they have had a lasting impact on is Hebrew culture, which remembers its liberation from slavery in Egypt quite well. Egypt has significant metaphorical import in both Judaism and Christianity as representing oppression and slavery. This is not at all connected with contemporary Egypt.

ok i'm not sure how much you want for an answer but i could write you a book... The ancient Egyptians were a very advanced civilization for their time. They lived along the Nile river, becuase that was their major source of water and locomotion. They believed in many gods and goddesses... i don't remember exactly how many it was but it was a lot... They are the ones that built all the huge pyramids and the beautiful temples... The Egyptians, i believe, actually ruled a large part of north-eastern Africa... don't quote me on that one, but i think they did... They had 3 different kingdoms, the old, middle and new kingdoms... the kingdoms were the different time periods... They were ruled by the Pharaoh, who was the King... he was surrounded by many different advisors and such. he always had the best of everything, even through the famines...

here are a few sites that could probably help you a lot more... i used these sights to do my senior project in high school... i would be able to but it is like midnight here now so my brain isn't really working properly... but i love ancient egypt and have always been fascinated by it... its so cool!!!

Which Ancient Egyptian civilization? I think there were vast differences in the different civilizations of Ancient Egypt.

In my view, it also still exists.

What if there is more than one history? Unless I am very naive (and lied to) in Sweden it isn't taught that the Holocaust ever happened.

properly, they dipicted themselves diverse from the two middle Easterners/Europeans/Asians as properly as different from the Nubians/Kushites and "Black" Africans. They fairly of course painted themselves as dark redish brown extremely continuously. on a similar time as the Nubians/Kushites have been painted very black. The indigenous inhabitants replaced into possibly somewhat darker than the Arabs, yet they could't be equated with Subsaharan African or "Black" populations the two. apparently sufficient, Egyptian Copts nevertheless spoke the Egyptian language up till extremely at the instant and that they use it in liturgy to right away. they have somewhat mixing like quite a few inhabitants and prefer maximum up-to-date Egyptians, yet they descend frequently from the indigenous inhabitants. there is not any strict dividing line betwen the races in North Africa, and there replaced into (and continually would be) mixing. of path there will be DNA similiarities between larger Nile Egyptians and Ethiopian populations! you will even discover African DNA in Sicilian populations immediately, case in point. yet inspite of genetic overlap, the North African indigenous populations (even formerly the Arab Invasion) have been different from "Black" populations. there is not any could desire to Whitewash...or, Blackwash this inhabitants. Even between the components you pasted is dedicated to the negation of Afrocentric revisionism and the declare that the classic Egyptian inhabitants replaced into "Black" - ("Afrocentrism grew to become an Excuse to show fable as background")
