With Mozilla, not long ago most of my bookmarks were wiped out A few above one separator stayed. Maybe that was because the folder was opened, while bookmarks below separator were not. I assume scanning software did it and have now backed up the bookmarks. How can I prevent this from happening again (backed up or not)? Sepators? Double separators? Leave some files open? Other? Thanks in advance.

In your scanning software preferences you can set options that scanning program overlook and leave those files
