Any oil-based paint in thin layers (spray/airbrush), terpenoids shouldn't dissolve the mylar, but be aware.

Markers, perhaps, though i know from experience they will need to dry else it will smear. Allow 30 minutes. Over time it will flake away with abrasion, rendering it non-archival.

Ball-point pens work too, but you need to really press hard on the mylar.

Consult with a drafting supplies store.

I think she's right. Markers are the way to go. Acrylic paints are too wet, and will make the mylar buckle. You wouldn't think so, but it does.
