I was told that if you wait too long it may no longer show up in the urine, is this true? My period has been late for about 55-60 days and my test read negative.

Umm...The reason I'm not concerned about my period being late is because I have ALWAYS had an irregular menstrual cycle. Also I was not planning a pregnancy. If I am, so be it, but it is not something I'm anxiously awaiting.

Will HPT's stop working after a certain point in pregnancy? Nope. HPT's will continue turning positive during your entire pregnancy, and can actually stay positive for up to 6 weeks following a full-term birth (due to residual hCG in your system.) Pregnancies that end early may also result in leftover hCG in your system, but it depends how far along you were and how much hCG had been in your body at the time.

Well if you wait until after the baby is born to take a pregnancy test it isn't going to show up in a urine test but until that point the pregnancy hormone is there. If you want a truly accurate test then you should see your doctor. Of course being that late for your period and testing negative might indicate something else wrong...and again you should see your doctor.

5 weeks should be plenty of time. However, you'll wait forever to get a 100% accurate reading, even the boxes say 99% accurate. If you were pregnant, you would most likely have some of the symptoms by now. If you think you're pregnant and the tests keep showing negative, see your doctor for a blood test. I hope this helps.

No, that is not true. You should see your doctor and have a check up to find out why your period is so late. A pregnancy test will read positive until the delivery of the baby and even a few days after!

These people have NO idea what they're talking about. After about 8-12 weeks gestation the hormone production slows down almost entirelly. You need to get a blood test and a scan. These people are jerks.

I never heard of that before. If you are pregnant the hormone will be present. However, I had a lot (5) of negative tests with one of my children. It was because of an infection that made it hard to detect, not because of waiting too long.

The longer you wait, the more visible the result would be because of the pregnancy horomones. You need to go to you gyn and have them give you a blood test. Good luck with everything.

You need to go to the doctor and find out why you aren't getting your period sweetie. That's a long time to not have a period! Are you on birth control that could cause you to miss your periods? If not, you need to get checked. You are not pregnant though. That's for sure. Good luck!

the hcg hormones diasapears after 12 week, so chances are, if your pregnant and just taking one no, it would still show up negative, go to the doctor, go for a ultrasound, find out for sure, good luck
