If you train for longer distances then. you will increase your short distances. like run stuff like on the track you can moderately jog a 200 meters then sprint 200 and do that fo a mile or so and it will increase your time in about a couple of weeks

Train harder, eat well, sleep well & take some protein supplements aswell as a Creatine supplement.
