Definitely pause for effect after every point. Try to use polysyllabic words, as these sound more intelligent and eloquent and elongate the speech. Try not to rush in general while speaking. Speak slowly and clearly. I don't know very much about the topic, but these are general aids for elongating any speech.

Whenever I write a speech, I always start out with an outline. Make sure the outline has three points, and within the three points, make sure there is three bullets, or bits of info to talk about. If you can do that, then your speech should be between the 3 and 5 minute time limit. In case you are wondering, I go to Kentucky Christian University, and I do this a lot for many of my speeches.

To make a speech longer you have to add something like"hope you enjoyed my speech","research more on this topic if you are interested" and all that. If you a very careful listener and can find your tricks while saying "umm..." and repeating things then this will for sure help

Be very descriptive and have a visual. If you pass out a pamphlet or bring a poster you can spend at least 30 seconds to one minute describing or explaining it.

talk REALLY SLOW!! be redundant. Repeat things using different wording. It won't take long, as there were many Acts. Just include the acts and how the people reacted, i.e. the Boston Tea Party in response to the Tea Act. Good luck! =]

Is there anything that you can expound upon? Like could you go deeper into the subject? Or perhaps add what happened just before or after the subject. How long is it so far?
