That depends on how your op sys was installed, there were only two manufacturers that set their systems up with a backup copy of the original xp. No details, no help!
Blackrats, your another one of those dips that thinks everything is solved by reinstalling! You create more probs for users here than you solve! I bet you have never done a reinstall!

That depends on a couple of things. If you bought your computer from a typical computer store - and it's a name brand (no XP CD), there should be a restore function on there. You need to go to the manufacturer's site (like HP or Dell) and look up what keys to hit. Usually there are 2 keys you hit when you see the manufacturer's name flash while it's booting. Hitting those keys will actually make the computer the way it was the day you got it.

If you got the XP CD - then you can always reformat C and reinstall XP.

If you want to restore to an earlier time, you could... just go Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Restore - THAT restore feature may or may not work.... If you go back to yesterday or the day before, it should work but it will only go back so far.... you can try it..... but don't know when you got these viruses.

Yes it will, but instead of going through all that, why don't you try to download anti virus like avast, norton, mcafee, or any king of anti virus software and just get rid of the viruses. If you restore you lose everything.

Try getting the original Operating System CD and just reinstall it again. Another option is to run an anti-virus on the computer.
Good Luck

Get Ubuntu Linux, it is great and free. No viruses and all that. Has support for multimedia, etc.

A bit of a steep learning curve if you are only familiar with Windows but worth it, if you want a stable system.
