It's a price/fad thing. Some people think the higher clothes and name brands will make them stand out in a crowd, impress people, and make them more popular. These same people never realize that they'll out-grow what they have or, if they're "style bugs", fashions will change from season-to-season.

Not everyone does it to be noticed, whore, most things I wear are designer and you don't even know it's the designer unless you're really into fashion or stalker crazy or something.

And I don't go around saying "Oh, I'm wearing Louis Vuitton shoes."

It's tactless and makes you seem poor and like you've never had anything nice.

Not everyone does it for bragging rights, more like because I can.

I personally don't "crave" designer clothes. It's just better quality, and a step up from people's crappy wardrobes infested with the abercrombie moose.

u know how in the 1600s or whatever when america was first being formed, how all the gentry (important/rich/respected/snobby people) wore powdered wigs and powdered their skin to show it? they did it to show they were rich enough to have others do their work for them, and they didnt do hard labor- they were that rich. now, people who drive fancy cars, wear designer products, and have big houses are like today's "gentry"... so basically to show that they're rich, to be respected/looked up to, and to show status. hope this helps!

It makes them feel special. It makes them feel like they have something better then evryone else. Don't become a designer crazed guy, it will just waste your money.
