i mean the hole continent is America not only the US, I get mad when ppl ask "how much do u have in america?" ummm IDK SINCE I WAS BORN!! well i just don think "americas" should call themselves that (i am "american" too, Mexican roots) every person in born in the continent is american, like euporeans asians an such. not just ppl born in the US.

Yes that is true. But since they called themselves that long ago and nobody else questioned them, I guess it stuck. Everyone else were calling themselves Canadians, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, nobody else were claiming that name anyways.

In the same manner, you can call yourself an Earthian or Milky Waynian and as long as people would agree with you long enough without any opposition, history might as well label you that way.

I think you are confused. We have the North American continent but then it is broken down into countries. Mexico, S America and Canada. Within S America are still more countries but in order to be a natural USA or American citizen you have to be born within the borders of this country.Otherwise you have to go thru the immigration process to be a legal citizen.

What part of the United States of America do you not get. I don't recall it being called the United Conitenent of the Americas any how you were born in Centeral America. Don't you realise that the USA is a soverign country and people born in that country or choose to become a citizen of that country gains the clasification of that country.
