after seeing the bell witch, if the movie was fact based than the witch did not cause the haunting. she said in the movie to john "i am not cursing you you are doing it yourself" meaning his sexually assaulting his daughter. and could the haunting be the guilt he has, the shame and anger she has, or the anger from his wife when the entity sad to her on the porch, "you know the truth"is the haunting some type of telekinnese on someones part.but a witch cannot cause a haunting and according to the movie his daughter poisons him for what he did to her.does anyone else agree or am i close?

Sweetie, it's a made-up story. The suggestion that it is "based on fact" is just a hook to grab viewers. Fun to pretend, but don't take it too seriously.

Your close.The only other possibility that you left out is the age of the daughter. if she was in or near puberty then the trauma could have set off a hormonal change causing Poltergeist like effects.Which would put you back to the mother saying she is not cursing him it is his own act coming back through the daughter to haunt him.
