everything would be better? I am Australian and my Prime Minister is so far up Bushs' *** he'd kill us all off if Bush asked him to because he thinks America would come to our aid when nessasary. How on earth did Bush get re-ellected?

To answer your main question, no, the war would not stop. Cheney, our Vice-President would become President, and I am pretty certain he would continue in his predecessor's footsteps.

As for the US coming to the aid of Australia if necessary, yes, I believe we would. England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, all those places where people speak English and who are sort of cousins to us, meaning the countries were originally founded with English stock, are our closest allies in the world. The US is mindful of who our closest friends are, and we would definitely come to your aid.

As for how he got re-elected? Don't ask me. I didn't vote for him either time around. The good news is that the Republicans are panicked about the mid-term elections coming up in two weeks, and are afraid of losing control of both houses of our Congress. If the Democrats gain an upper hand, there should be some changes almost immediately, however small. And the next Presidential election, in two years, is looking equally grim for Republicans. Bush cannot run again (Presidents are limited to two terms), and a lot of Americans are so fed up with how things are going both in the Middle East and here at home, that I am pretty sure the next President will either be a Democrat, or an extremely moderate, middle of the road Republican. Whoever gets elected is pretty much going to have to assure voters of getting troops out the Middle East in order to get into that seat, and they're going to have to follow through.

I understand what you're attempting to assert, Robert. besides the shown fact that, you ought to have re-phrased in a distinctive way... like, 'If President Bush replaced into assassinated, might the american ethical compass be restored interior the eyes of the international?' Or some thing to that line of theory. My reaction to that would desire to make certain, after a spell of time has surpassed.

What a lovely thought! Your mum must be so proud! How? Because Americans like ME voted for him--twice! The States come to the WORLD'S aid every time you have a disaster! Unfortunately, we'll be doing the same for Australians if they have a problem. Thank goodness they're not all like you. Maybe, when the help arrives, you can refuse to take it. Yeah, right! People like you feel entitled to complain but your first in line. Why don't you mind you own business and take care of the Australian problems?

It Pains me to say this but YES the United States would Most certainly come to the aid of Australia. People like you are the kind I'd really like to see the US turn there noses at Next time a disaster strikes. But Alas we are the USA and we do not Hold an Entire country at fault for One persons views. Apparently Some people in other countries do. But we as Americans Must do as we always have and RISE Above those who BAD mouth us until that is they need us. Here's some advice for you. Worry ALOT more about Your Own countries Politics and you'll have ALOT less time to stick your nose in Americas.

No, I was 17, when Kennedy was shot and it is a horrible thing. If it did happen Dick Cheney our vice president would be president and while G.W. is bad, lord help us if Cheney gets to be president. I think he is the brains behind the man. The war will go on until the debate is over. Then we will bring our troops home where they belong. There is not much support for the war in our country either.

No. President Bush is part of a ruling team, and some say he is submissive to the others - like Vice President Cheney. Cheney would become President if George W. Bush dies in office, and Cheney has been getting his own way in the prosecution of the war. There would still be Donald Rumsfeld (Secretary of Defense) and Carl Rove (unelected political gamesman), and so many obnoxious others.

Not a chance, the unchecked powers behind the scenes are very powerful and are running the operation along with Cheney and Rumsfled. Bush is no more than a figurehead. No, not a chance in hell.

No, things would get a WHOLE LOT WORSE.
Obviously, you're not old enough to remember the LAST time an American president was assassinated. I'm not, but my parents remember it quite clearly.
I remember when there was an attempt made on Reagan's life. That was awful.
The last thing we need is a repeat of that.

Bush was re-elected because people voted for him. Deal with it.
Sorry if that sounds rude, but I am SO TIRED of hearing people talk about Bush being assassinated.
I didn't like Clinton, but I didn't want him killed, either!

Believe me, there are a lot of Americans asking the same question. I think it would depend on who killed Bush first. But honestly, he has so many of his "buddies" in the chain of command, it would probably continue. We just need to wait two years and get him the hell out of the White House.

I supported Bush when he went to war...now I regret it....but assinating one of our leaders is stooping to the level of the terrorists that we are fighting. We will soon have a new president & then we'll see the outcome. But you can't look at the Twin Towers collapsing without feeling some shock, disbelief, & ANGER! Not saying what Bush did was right...but I understand....
