For the past two summers my boyfriend and I have gone to Walt Disney World in August (8/14/05-8/22/05 and 8/1/06-8/11/01.) We go at this time because it's just more convenient for us. We're still young and in school. I'm well aware it's going to be extremely hot as always, and the parks are going to be crowded, and I don't mind. I just want to know which time would be better. We'd either go in mid-July or at the beginning of August (I've checked the prices at the website and they're the same.) I kind of think July may be a better choice because the Water Parks will have Extra Magic Hours and be open later. When I was planning my trip for this past summer I noticed that the Water Parks begin closing around 6:00 or 7:00 everyday during the first week of August, but in July they'd sometimes stay open until 10:00, or so. Any other reasons as to why I should go during one month rather than the other?

Ric R- You sound excited. I'm guessing you had a great time. I can't wait to go! I always stay on property. I love Disney's Polynesian Resort and that's where I always stay. I love all of those rides, too! I'll be sure to go on them for you! ... But it'll take me a little while to build up the courage to go on the Tower of Terror. I always wait until the end of my vacation to ride it. lol

PEOPLE, PAY ATTENTION! READ THE QUESTION BEFORE YOU ANSWER. I GO TO WALT DINSEY WORLD IN THE SUMMER BECAUSE THAT'S WHEN I LIKE TO GO. I WANT TO KNOW WHICH MONTH IS BETTER, JULY OR AUGUST.
* DO NOT RECOMMEND ANOTHER TIME OF YEAR! I SAID I'M GOING IN THE SUMMER LIKE I ALWAYS DO!*

Apparently this question isn't "right up your alley, Damian."

Seriously, read my question if you're going to bother answering it. To the no-name person, if you actually read what I said, or even what the person before you said, maybe you could've given a decent answer. I've already contacted Disney and the price for July is the same as the price for August. And as I stated, I've been in August before, so I'm well aware of what the weather's going to be like.

Well, I was hoping for suggestions from people who have season passes, or something, and go all the time and know what's going on at Walt Disney World during those two months. I think it's funny that people say they don't think it matters which month I choose, July or August, but it does. As I stated, the Water Parks stay open later in July. Another thing is Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba. The Cast usually has a couple of days to a week off each month, and I always go see the show. So if they happen to not be performing during one of the times (mid-July or early August) then I don't want to go then. Also, the Wide World of Sports Complex has professional sports teams in training at times, so if they'll be there sometime in July or August, that could affect my choice. I just wanted to know if any of the locals had any information.

well, I'm a Florida resident season pass holder-but that actually means I'm not eligible to go in July and part of august (black out dates) went in 2nd week of august '05 and it was pretty crowded and dismally muggy. i know July is really hot too, but I've always thought august was more humid. plus, more chance of a hurricane in august. so i say go in July, just definitely avoid the 4th-i hear it's packed

Other than the water parks staying open later in July, I don't believe there's much difference in going mid-July or beginning-of-August.
It'll be the same crowded, I don't think it'll be any hotter one month than the other, neither is generally more of a "rainy season" than the other.
You said you checked and the prices are the same, so if you get more for your money - more hours - in July, then I'd go for then.

I have always stayed away from Disney in the summer due to the heat, and hurricane season ;) If it is at all a consideration, I would recommend going down over the holidays. This year will be the 3rd time that I have gone down for New Years- The week after is really dead! Plus it is not too hot, not too cold.
The only disadvantage is the shortened hours for the water parks- plus one is always closed. But the holiday decor makes up for it!

June is the rainiest month, but it is also the coolest month out of those three. And even though it is cooler than July and August, it is still really hot. As far as crowds go, one of the slowest times at Disney is right after the kids go back to school in early to mid August.

I don't think it will make much of a difference, although I know that many working people have vacations in July. (of course many people have vacations any time of year-like me, I was there in Sept. and am going back in Dec.)
Anyway, for your purposes, I don't see much of a differance. Both months: weather is hot, parks are crowded, price is the same
Seems to me it is simply a matter for your personal choice.

I just got BACK!!!! Five great daze at the Coronado Springs, right in the World.
July is my guess - since ya gotta go in Summer. Just avoid the 4th of July week.
Say, do you stay on the property? Best deals are at the budget Disney hotels. Disney.com will have any room deals, so go there to book if you can - I do every time. Have fun...

I live in Florida so that question is right up my ally!
The best time to visit Disney world is anytime in September, the 1st week of October, and all of January.
Do not visit Disney World anytime in the summer. Everyone is on vacation, and chances are, they're at disney world.
Do not visit Disney World around Christmas time! Disney has an event called Mickey's Very Merry Christmas. It's very busy, so don't go!
In September, Epcot has an event, celebration of flowers or something like that, don't go there in September!
Hope that helps you some!
