Serious answer----
How do you KNOW the battery is good?
How do you KNOW that the power is getting from the battery to the car's system?
There are several points where the battery current can get disconnected.
Are the battery terminals CLEAN and secure? The old side-post arrangement for G.M. is known for failing connections when they LOOK clean.
Do yo have the "Bolt-on" battery cable repair ends? If they are dirty or loose, they will cause the same symptoms and signs.
Are we sure that the cables are SECURE on the ground end of the cable? Are we sure that the positive end is secure on the starter. Are we SURE?
Have you checked the fusible link at the starter solenoid end that supplies the system power from the battery? Does this car have a MAXI fuse arrangement? If it does, the MASTER could very well be blown, and you cannot always see it.
Some things to look into. Should keep someone busy for at least ten minutes or so.
Good Luck

Wow!
You still have a Nova?. My first car was the 1975 model!. (Anyway) because the Nova is no longer in production, you may have to order parts from the Cheverolet Manufactures. Your local Auto Parts dealer (Such as "Auto Zone,or NAPA) can help you find the parts you need. You wil have to pay for shipping also. Good Luck!

Either your battery is dead (regardless of what you say) or the cables running from the battery are carroded.
Check the cables that connect to the battery terminals and then get someone to give you a jump and see if it will start then.

although the batterry is new u should check the terminals or posts for corrosion which is often over looked and will cause it not to start.

something is not connected correctly, you have a total loss of all power..
I suggest having a different "mechanic" take a look and give you a second oppinion..
