didn't you read the book??? it was actually a really good book from what i remember (i read it like 6 years ago) anyways, but if you go to www.sparknotes.com and in the top right corner thype in The Giver and click search and then you'll get the summary of the whole entire book, and if you don't understand something, they will explain it to you...good luck! (don't worry its free)
