The equation you are given is in standard form which is usually useless( Ax+By=C) you should change it to slope intercept or point slope form.

Finding X intercept
3x+2y=6
3x+2(0)=6
Divide 6 by 3
x=2
x= (2,0)
Finding Y intercept
3x+2y=6
3(0)+2y=6
Divide 2 by 6
y=3
y= (0,3)

Just replace X with a 0 to find the Y intercept and replace Y with a 0 to find the X intercept
Finding the X-intercept:
3x+2y=6
3x+2(0)=6
3x=6
x= (2,0)
Finding the Y intercept:
3x+2y=6
3(0)+2y=6
2y=6
y=(0,3)

3x+2y=6
The y intercept is when x=0: (3)(0)+2y=6, so y=3.
The x intercept is when y=0: 3x+(2)(0)=6, so x=2.

to find the y intercept, set x=0 because when u graph it, the point where the line passes through the y axis, x has to be zero
and vice versa
to find x int, set y = 0

put the equation into slope intercept form....y=mx+b
u have it in standard form right now...
then b will become the y-intercept...
plug 0 into the y to find x-intercept....
hope this helps...C-Man
