I just finished The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova and it was the best vampire book that I've read in a long time. Plus, it just came out on paperback:

The Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton is exceptional. Better than Anne Rice in my opinion.

Bram Stoker's Dracula is a must. Michael Romkey's I Vampire is quite good, Leonard Wolf's Blood Thirst is great, and Roderick Anscombe's The Secret Life of Laszlo Count Dracula is phenomenal. They are all easy to find, I don't think any of them are out of print.
Read and Enjoy!!!
