My copy is for the xbox and it always says "there is an error with the disc you're using. It may be dirty or damaged." The disc is very shiny and new.

If you have one of the early versions of the Xbox the DVD drive is made by a company called Thompson and they are not a good quality drive. Its the laser that failed. I had this problem and I opened up my xbox thinking it was dirty and cleaned it if you do that Microsoft will not fix it. There are literally many thousands of people who have this problem but Microsoft won't admit it. I was able to find a Thompson replacement drive brand new on EBay for around $40.00 and it was real easy to change. the only tool you may need that you don't have is a #10 torx screwdriver. Two other companies make xbox DVD drives I think they are Phillips and samsung but I don't know if you can replace them with the Thompson. You can also buy just the laser for a little bit less money but it is harder to replace, When I replaced mine it worked and it just so happens the game I was playing at the time was San Andreas

this happened to me before.

Take the CD, take a clean soft, soft, soft tissue and wipe the CD once completely.

Then put it back in the Xbox.

If it still doesn't work try it again.

If it still doesn't work then try cleaning your xbox with a soft tissue (just the place where you put the CD)

Hope this helps

Return it with the original receipt and explain to them why you are returning. I'm sure they will be more than happy to get you a new copy.

im not sure but i have three theories.

2)The dic does have a problem in it

or the most likely case

3)Its the Japanese Version
