I see their albums in the bargain bins at the CD stores where I live all the time. What kind of music do they make? Do they sound like any other bands? Please don't just say "Yeah, they're awesome" or something, I would like to know what they sound like. Thanks : )

HIM I believe is a group of four guys from Finland. They have a more European rock sound to them for sure. People who are deep into rock music gave them a sub-genre of their own called Love Metal.
They really do have their own sound. The instrumentals a fairly basic, and singing is okay, but all together they provide a really focused sound with many colors.
They are more generally known as a goth-metal group. Dont let Metal trick you...they arnt going to sound like Hatebreed, Metallica or anything like that. Their songs have a wide range of songs. Slow, soft songs about love. And faster harder songs. Overall they present a dark color.
I dont think their recent CD doest do any justice for the clever sound they made back when they first started. If you are thinking of picking up the bargin CD...it might not be worth your buy if its Dark Light. Their older CD's are very hard to find in the US (Or atleast when I got into them 5 years ago). I had to import them from Finland!

i guess they're more alternative rock-y kinda. i can't think of anyone they sound like though....maybe you can download a song or two from somewhere and see what you think. That would probably be the best thing to do. I personally like them...and contrary to a previous answer, I am no suicidal heroin addict

there pretty good. if you've ever watched viva la bam on mtv you wouldve heard of HIM. they are featured alot on that show.
