Our military was already gutted during the 1990's, we risk not even being rated as having a military if they cut further, We'd end up in the same world power class as sweden, norway, denmark swtzerland, and a few choice others, we know how much respect they command.
Ya know, the more I think about the question, the more it sounds absolutely rediculous! What planet do you come off with the "Spirit of the country", Thats total crap LOL Your in dreamy dream land LOL

The spirit of this country is to have a right-sized military. Big when needed, and small when not. Unfortunately, today big is needed.
