if it's a GSM phone (cingular or tmobile), you can buy a phone through this website, www.myworldphone.com , i'm pretty sure all the phones they sell are unlocked but double check if you decide to buy from there.
you can even go to your company store and buy a phone there. they will just charge you retail price without a contract.
and of course ebay.
i dont know if you're looking for a new phone or a used phone. if you want a used phone u can go to www.craigslist.org.
honestly, if you're looking for a new one, go to the store directly, unless you want something from overseas, then go to that website i told you about. if you want used, craigslist or ebay.

just search for phones on amazon.com or something. usually phones bought unlocked are gona cost more that getting it with a contract. you can just buy an unlocked phone and insert the sim card from the old phone to the new one

You can buy a phone anywhere .. just make sure it supports the provider you have. If you have one that has a SIM card then a good idea is to buy a prepaid phone and just put your SIM card. Their sold cheaper.
