First of all, Congrats!

As to your first question, usually docs do an ultrasound between 20 and 24 weeks just to check on the baby to make sure it is developing as it should etc...they most definitely can tell then whether or not it is a boy or a girl. However, they can tell earlier than that. I believe around 16 weeks is the norm...

And for your second question, I'd go ahead and stop riding 'em. I'm sure there is some explaination for not riding them while pregnant or most amusement parks wouldn't have signs up saying that pregnant women shouldn't ride the rides. Be sure and ask your doc but I'm betting he says "no".

Happy and healthy nine months to you!

Congratulations,
You can normally find out the sex of the baby during the 18 week routine ultrasound, but this is not 100% corrected, the baby needs to be sitting in the right spot. just remember there is a 50/50 chance they are right but also a 50/50 chance they could be wrong,

your body should start to adjust to pregnancy hopefully by week 12 or very soon after, just remember that pregnancy is a rollercoaster in itself so after the morning sickness and other symptoms you have during the first few months the are replaced with other things so its all an experience. Just enjoy every little bit, I know how hard it is to try and enjoy it while your sick and moody but its all worth it, by week 16 you should get your energy back and feel as normal as possible while pregnant, as long as its a normal textbook pregnancy. Its great feeling the movements at first until they keep you awake at night, lol,

I look at pregnancy as you are no longer n control of your body, you have been abducted by something the size of a grain of rice to start with and its only 9 months which sound like forever at the start but it all goes really quickly until you hit 36 weeks, then its a drag waiting for the birth. You will get off the roller coaster and think i wanna do that again once you see what the end result is.. Its natural. Hope its an easy pregnancy for you without complications. Good luck

I found out the gender of my baby around 20 weeks I believe. Sometimes they can tell sooner! There are some circumstances where it's hard to discover the sex, because of the baby's position, so it definitely depends! You may go in at 15 weeks and they'll be able to tell you because the baby is "showing their stuff" or you may have a sonogram at 20 weeks and the baby ends up hiding everything. Of course, I believe if you have an amniocentisis, they can tell you what the sex of the baby is. Most women don't have to have this test done, unless they are older, or at more of a risk for birth defects and other problems. You should definitely stop riding rollercoasters now though. They have signs up when you go to an amusement park, about pregnant women avoiding them. As soon as you find out you're pregnant, roller coasters are a no no. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy! I hope you have an easy one!

1. Via ultrasound, most people can see the gender of the baby anytime beyond 19 weeks.
2. You really should stop riding them now, because if there is a significant amount of force placed onto your abdomen, you could cause yourself to miscarry. Your pregnancy is most fragile during the first trimester. The force can cause the placenta to separate from the uterus.

I was a young mom and I asked my doc alot of questions.

1. you should find out the sex of the baby when you are around 19-20 weeks, so about 4 months
2. once you find out that you are pregnant, you should stay off rollercoasters! when you are in your first trimester it is really easy to have a misscarriage. and after that, you can really hurt the baby, or cause a stillbirth. plz take my advise and stay off them.

When you have your ultrasound at 24wks they can usually see something then.

As far as riding rollercoasters, I think it is ride at your own risk. I wouldn't do it at 9mths or anything, but have fun until they quit letting you on the rides.
