I don't think he is for two reasons.

1) He isn't the most popular or recognizable player on the planet. Something Michael Jordan was for his sport. David Beckham takes that honor.

2) He has yet to prove he can carry a team by himself the way Michael Jordan has. Ronaldinho also needs a lot more championships before he can be considered the MJ of football/soccer.

No , its Diego Maradona (from Argentina, oh and he is retired just like michael) but Ronaldinho still has a few years to go before his considered a legend !!! (But I do think that he is one of the best players right now )

well after the retirement of ZIDANE u can definately say that he is the new Michael Jordan of football. IN case of Ronnie he is still a kid, he defenately needs to grow up.tell u it was a really a good comparison.

have u forgotten that ronaldinho has already won a world cup!!!!!!!!!who won it 4 years ago? he was on the team!!!!!, n e ways, i think that u can't compare mj to ronaldinho because mj won 6 titles, he played defense and offense...but then again basketball is not the same thing as soccer, and i hate basketball and i love soccer

Ronaldinho enjoys playing soccer so much and has so many fancy tricks.
Micheal Jordan had a lot of persitantence to get to where he is today.
