tropical is in between, they can have some beautiful fish, research first and then have a look around the aquriums. With our tropical tank, we started off with Neon tetras, Rams, Kribs, now have some beautifal fish such as Discus, Angelfish, Bala Sharks, Clown Loaches (these are a must with any tropical tank) Black Widow Tetras (very hardy) Bristlenose Catfish, I could go on and on as I have 5 tanks myself :)

This fish can't be with other fish, but if you take good care of it, it will live for a really long time, beta fish!! I've had mine for about a year now... If that's not the fish your looking for then just go to your Wal-Mart and pick out a tropical fish and ask some questions about it!!
~~thank you have a wonderful day~~ :)

I'd recommend a Platy or two or three.
Many different colour varieties (see the link below), peaceful fish who'll probably breed in your tank &, if the conditions are right (enough places to hide, weed, not too many voraciously hungry other fish) they'll breed & you'll have home grown little babies to watch grow up.

There are many small hardy tropicals and its kinda hard to choice.
Platies
Guppies
swordtails
neon tetras
glowlight tetras
...infact many tetras are small and hardy.
So depending on the size of the tank, research them, and decide on what you want,
liveaquariua.com provides great profiles of fish. so check them out.

Some of the hardiest small fish I've had good luck with keeping are: zebra danios, mollies, black and neon tetras, and cobra guppies.

I think you should get a bata fish because they last for a long time! and you don't have to worry about not feeding them!! One time i didn't feed mine for a week and it was still totally fine!
