I'm on depo provera, and have been sexually active for a month and a half, with my first partner. I got my period a few days ago, and when I took out my tampon, something else fell out. I thought it was a forgotten tampon, so I fished it out, because it souldn't be flushed... but it was flesh. It's about the size of a tampon (if I have to give it dimentions, about 3 x 1 inches) but it's deformed, and since I had my period, it's all bloody. i can't talk to my mom, and it's way to late to call anyone, and I'm realy worried, because I have no idea what it is!

I've never taken any abortion pills, and I'm almost positive it wasn't a miscarriage; my bf and I were VERY careful, and always used a condom (b4 the bc). Plus, I started the depo very early in our sexul relationship.

And, yes, I did save it for analysis... I'm making a appt. at Planned Parenthood (where I got the Depo) for tomorrow.

It also hurt to put my tampon in yesterday. It only hurt once, and I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but...

It's just a little blood clot. Nothing to worry about.
You did not miscarry!
Relax!!!

First of all you should be worried about how you feel right now, not what it is. It might be a side effect of depo provera ("prolonged, heavy, vaginal bleeding" - see the link below). Call you doctor first. It's never too late to call someone. It's harmful for you to loose more blood. No matter what reason it is you should try to stop bleeding first!! You may call the doctor who prescribed the medicine or your GYN. You don't have to make an appointment with the doc. Just call the office and talk to a nurse. If she/he can't answer, she/he will talk to the doc and then get back to you or the doc will talk to you directly.

That does sound worrisome. I can only guess... could you have possible gotten pregnant early in your sexual acitivity and had a miscarriage because of the depo? It seems like you would have had a lot of other symptoms, cramping, etc. but that could have been put down to being on your period. If you have more symptoms, I would see a doctor. It may be difficult, especially if you can't talk to your mom, but it may be best. Check out Planned Parenthood, they may be able to help with confidentiality. Good luck, I hope you're ok.

There are agencies such as Planned Parenthood the you can talk to.

Here is how life works, medically speaking - IN LIFE, if you have ANYTHING, ANYTHING DIFFERENT; such as what happen to you; a different pain, a different feeling, bleeding wrong, going to the bathroom wrong, etc, etc. - ASK someone in the medical profession what they think it is. WE ALL!!! get medical problems in our lives. The thing is to find out what they are when the problem is SMALL and easy to fix. Not ignore it, allow it to grow big and be really difficult to fix.

Since you had this problem only a short time ago, you definitely are very smart to ask others - is there something wrong? Most people choose to IGNORE these warnings. And that is not a good idea. Ignored, they never go away. They just get bigger.

Umm.....first of all, its not likely that you should be getting your period on Depo....did your doctor say anything about it? Secondly, I would go to the gyno and talk to them about what happened to you. Your mother doesn't have to know about it but for overall health reasons, I would definitely consult a physician. If you were pregnant and miscarried your doctor should know. Otherwise, there could be something else seriously wrong with you.
If you want to have children later in life I would definitely take your women's health issues seriously. Good luck with everything.

Hmm... the only thing coming to mind is that you may have already been pregnant and what you found inside you may have been an early stage fetus. You need to examine it yourself in detail - your 'insides' is not something to wait around in figuring out!!!!! Or go to free health clinc or Planned Parenthood - they will answer all of your questions without causing a big ordeal or telling your family.

It's possible that it was just a large blood clot from your lining shedding like they do when you get your period. You should keep a watchful eye on if you "pass" something like that again during your period and talk to your doctor the next time you go.

glad you had the sense to keep it and have made an appointment its the best thing you can do.
try not to worry to much it may just be some of the lining from your womb coming away which happens when you have a period.
some people get little bits others get huge bits like yours.
wait until you've had your appointment before you worry yourself to death.
good luck hope all is well

You should have saved it, taken it to your gyn for analysis. It may indicate a lost pregnancy or something is wrong with you that may need immediate attention.

Don't delay, if you have it, put it in a glass, cover it and make an appointment first thing in the morn.
