Indian summer is the result of a secondary seasonal lag effect whereby the sustained saturation of the earths surface radiates at a higher rate than the average temperature of the surrounding air. This excess radiation then creates temperature inversions and the warm air rises and thus generates winds of excessive heat.

The heat of the sustained wind creates additional friction as the air moves in a anti-clock-ward, cyclical motion. Again, the higher sustained heat radiating from the ground fuels the cycle and thus is Indian summer born. But before you can get even that you have to sacrifice a goat or something.
