Truth is seldom plain, and it met without dissent.

FACT: 2 + 2 = 4 (see, no one seriously argues, right?)

OPINION: Jesus was the paradigm of worldly existence

See the difference? Everyone agrees with the truth, but on non-absolute beliefs, there will always be people to argue otherwise (in this case Nietzche or Satre)

This is the reason that so many people are unwilling to change their political views. When you have beliefs that you have held for a longtime it is very hard to accept the fact that you were wrong. I'm sure many a bad politician has been kept in office because of this.

"The truth hurts" That quote is so true. Most people don't want to listen to the truth because they know that it will go against everything they are taught to believe.
