Has anybody out there bought a Honda Fit?

I was going to buy one - but the dealers here (in the CA Bay Area) are jacking up the prices to $1,000 and even $1,500 above MSRP. So I bought a little used car instead, for now. I'll probably get a used Fit in a couple of years. A base model - manual transmission. If you have one - how is it? Did you pay MSRP or above? How long did it take to get it? Let me know about your Fit and what you like/don't like about it. Thanks

The Fit is getting rave reviews, and like previous Hondas, are going for a premium when first introduced.

By comparison, the 1984 Honda Prelude went for $10,500 with A/C, and you couldn't get one at that price, and you had to pay the money to a dealer who put you on a waiting list. I bought the turbo Dodge Colt instead.

Buying a new car never makes sense financially. For what you pay for the Fit, you could buy a much nicer 2-3 year old car coming off of a lease agreement that has maybe 45,000 miles (or less). The bank will finance you almost as long as the new car, and you can get a service agreement that will cover you until 100,000 miles.

Which do you want -- a new Fit, or a fully-loaded 2 year old lease car with all the goodies and some cash left over?

The Toyota Matrix is a better buy. It has a great track record and holds its value pretty good. It gets about the same mileage as the Fit. If you really want the Fit, wait a year or so until no one wants it anymore.

i own a repair shop,and my neighbor bought one a week,ago and yesterday it wouldn't start,they had it towed back to the dealer,and they traded a 1 year old Chevy in on it,now there really sick,and they said there's was higher than the sticker price also,who knows what the reason is for it but the purpose of buying anew car is so it don't break down,i guess now days it opposite,any way good luck,you was probably wise for not buying it right now,i hope this help,s.
