If we want to be intolerant of intolerance, wouldn't this mean we would be intolerant of our position, and then would need to be intolerant of that, and then we would need to be intolerant of the intolerant position we have to intolerant positions of intolerance?

to be tolerant is to be intolerant.
you cannot be tolerant of something, until you first become intolerant.
think about it.

By being tolerant of intolerance, we would encourage it. It is best to nip it in the bud - not be "intolerant of it", but just rationally tell intolerant people why their intolerance is unacceptable. We are not intolerant of these people, we just dislike their ideas.
