How do you suggest to a person that they could benefit from counceling with out causing a blow-up............

secretly record them when they are blowing up about something.....then play it back to them. sometimes when people are really upset they dont realize how they sound. if you do that, then maybe they will realize how they really sound, and actually agree that they need help.

I'm guessing they are a friend of yours or a family member, well either one you need to tell them that you care about them and that you'll always be there for them, but their problem is far bigger than you can handle and that maybe they need help. and then I'd tell them there is nothing wrong with counseling and maybe suggest that if they don't feel comfortable going to a counselor by themselves that you'd go with them at least until they are comfortable being alone with the counselor.

Does this person scare you when they lose their temper? If so, tell them and ask them to get help.
