There were a lot of lame villians (Colin Farell - Daredevil) and a lot of good ones (Christopher Walken - Sleepy Hollow), but which was the best in your opinion?

Kevin Spacey in Usuall Suspects was also a good choice. Plus Hanibal Lector seems to be the favorite.

Christopher Walken was indeed one of the best, I also like William Defoe (Green Goblin in Spider Man)

I think the all time best villain has got to be Hannibal Lechter. He wasn't just a vicious, murderous psychopath - he was a polite, cultured, intelligent, vicious, murderous psychopath.

There's several other great villains I can think of - Darth Vader, Norma Desmond (from Sunset Boulevard), Amon Goethe (Schindler's List), and Nurse Ratched (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest). And Alan Rickman's performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham has to be the best comic villain. But none of these others give me the same sense of dread that Hannibal inspires.

Michael Myers (aka "The Shape") in Halloween. He never said a single word in any of those movies, but he is the creepiest villian I have ever seen. Especially when they play the Halloween theme music.
