Perhaps the fact that a lot of the people who make those decisions in Canada, happen to be ****-sexual may have something to do with it.

Also, Canada is the 'true' land of the free...

Canada believes in equality. Every human being has a right.

Why deprive the same-sex couples the benefit of legality when it can be enjoyed by heterosexual couples? If gender is the only issue, it is not enough.

There are same-sex unions that have lasted a lifetime. There are very devoted couples. Love is not reserved for the heterosexuals.

Because it is a just and fair country, much unlike the United States which is only free if you are the White Male majority.

It was a mistake foisted on the public by the Liberal government. The conservative government is arranging a free vote on it this year so that it can be voted on by the Members of Parlaiment . I suspect the gay marriage law will be repealed.
