Well. have you ever asked a psychic their name first? Does that mean you are also not psychic? I play with you a little because you remind me of myself when I was young and asked the same question. Ah friend, all of God's children have psychic abilities. Some choose to develop them thoroughly, some do not. What profession can you think of that you cannot improve on? Was Beethovan a star overnight? Didn't he practice endless hours on time? Sometimes when one is tired, the energy can be too low to read 100% accurately. If you think that a psychic is not a good psychic because they have not developed to the extent of Creator's omnicience (all-knowing), then you are most probably correct. Did you know that really good psychics are actually being guided by Loving Guides on the Other Side? For instance, my Guide is Mother Mary, and because of the vast amount of wisdom that she carries, she often makes me look good because I hit the mark so often. Yet it is her wisdom, not mine. Mine is an easy job. I just relate what she tells me. I am able to see inside the body to detect cancer and other illnesses of the form, only because she opens my 3rd Eye. I can sense mental illnesses and even the factors that underly them--who, what, why, when. Mother Mary even shows me the cure. (Believe it or not, it doesn't matter really. :) Other psychics may focus on past lives or how to live more fully in the present. Not everyone has the full picture of the ALL. Much ability depends on how well you develop it, don't you think? Kinda' like playing basketball. How good you are is often dependent on the love, desire and determination to excell at what brings you joy in its doing. God bless you, honey.

Psychics do not know everything. There are different types of psychic ability. Some would know your name before they ask you, but some don't. Some only get glimpses of information (past, present, or future).

I read it or heard it somewhere that a person's name is the key to unlock the person's future and past. Hence I guess if the psychic needs to read into your future and past, he or she will need the key - your name.
Or it's just that psychics don't exist, like gnomes, fairies, witches, warlocks, vampires, werewolves and Loch Ness monster...

well since :
A psychic is a person who claims or who is believed to possess extra-sensory abilities, including: clairvoyance, psychometry and precognition. These claims are widely disputed by mainstream science, and are regularly attacked by skeptics. However supporters exist within the field of parapsychology, including Cornell University's Daryl Bem, who argues for a mild but significant phenomenon based upon his ganzfeld experiments.
while :
They don't have any skill to read mind nor to know your name.
So :
That's why "they have to ask for your name".

Because they claim to know everything "except" your name =D
God knows you by your own name. Better trust in God than in those people who contradict themselves.
Greets.
