Ask your lawyer about what's called the equitable estoppel doctrine

This is something you need to consult with an attorney about. However, in most cases that I know of or at least heard of...You signed a document acknowledging you are the father, you have been in the child's life probably most of his life, and you were at least once married to his mother... During the time the child's life you have been his father, responsible for him, etc. More than likely you will be ordered to pay child support. When the judge decides on his ruling he will factor in all of this...

This case is no different when unmarried couples have a child together and the guy signs the birth certificate without having a paternity test. The guy is/has acknowledge he is the father. Due to this dumb move he's responsible for providing for the child, and the courts will order him to pay child support. I believe that is unfair. Sadly that women like this is messing it up for the honest, faithful women.

Do you really think it's fair to this child that you deny him because things didn't work out between you and his mother?
You have been part of his life, and probably the only dad he knows. Did you know the child wasn't yours when you signed the papers? Even if you did know, the question remains is it still fair to that child because his mother is a whore?

I'm sure you didn't have a problem supporting this child while you were with his mother. Nothing has changed but your address. Think of this child...Please continue to be a part of his~

What do you mean "signed a document saying the child is mine but isn't. Do you mean that he belongs to his father or who? You know we, humans are too confident with legal papers when they are presented to us we do not read it before signing and that is a big mistake we make. I am talking about me ,it has happened before not in divorce court but, in other legal documents. Could you ref-race the sentence so, that not only me but, the rest of the people who like to answer questions would understand your problem, Do not get me wrong I really would like to know how I can help you out.

You can get a blood test and prove that the child is not yours.. The court will still make you pay child support since you sign a paperwork indicating the child was yours....I know it sucks but look at it as you saving a life financially..That child will respect when he/she grows up..Things need to change in our court system.. Men get the raw deal when it comes to divorce...

Oh so you like the title of Dead Beat Dad! No matter what you say now you signed on the line and everyone will think a little less of you for backing out of your responsibility.
Best of luck man, it would be too tough for me to turn my back on it.

You can try to empathize with this boy who you claimed as your son, who you seemingly would now like to abandon. You can know that he will always remember you as his dad if he and you have had a relationship for these three years. You can know that you will tear out a huge part of his heart when you walk away because he isn't your seed.

What a man should do.Keep in contact with him and let him know that you love him.If this goes before a judge, you would be responsible for him.Your name is on the document. You couldn't and shouldn't walk away.

I'm wondering why you signed it in the first place...pretty dumb move if you knew beforehand he wasn't yours.
