I have heard that it is only illegal if you use it in public suck as the tv or radio, but i have also heard that it is just illegal in general.

It is not illegal as long as you only download un-copyrighted material, however most people use it for songs which is illegal becuase you getting a song without paying for it which is stealing which is illegal.

Here is the only right answer. The program itself is not illegal, what you use the program for is illegal.
The deal is other than itunes, its pretty hard to find songs for music players not capatable with itunes. Limewire is just about the only alternative, but that's the risk you might take.
If music sevices sell songs the Bit Rate should be the same as a CD not a crappy 128kps MP3.

No, I do not believe limewire is illegal because everyone I know has it including me. If it is illegal then I don't think alot of people would have it right now.

Absolutly not, but if you download any copyrighted material on there then you have violated federal law so be careful. You will get into even more trouble if you then share that material.

thousands of people use it. I'm not sure if its illegal or not. Haven't heard of someone being busted yet.
