What do the Republicans think of this? Do they care.

Obviously not much since they still drive S.U.V's.

Also, if all countries polluted this much, what would you do to conserve?

To Prevent Attacks- I ride my bike to the train station, and head into the city from there. I also save on heating. What do you do??

That's not just about pollution. We're using up resources at that rate. The Republicans approach the issue exactly the same way they approach the nation's mega-deficit finances. All that matters is having what they want now. They don't care if there will be a world left for their children or grandchildren, because that's somebody else's problem.

None of you seem to understand that the WWF's report is NOT about global warming! It's saying that Americans are using resources faster than they can be replenished. The only reason why we've been able to sustain it for this long is that we import a lot of oil and other raw materials from other countries that don't consume as much as we do. This is not new. It's been reported for years that if every country used resources at the same rate as Americans do, there wouldn't be enough to go around.

I think you need to stop and do a little research about all this. You see, the environmentalists all want to jump up and down and talk about global warming. And I agree the temp is going up, but I defy anyone to enter a room that is 78 degrees and tell me when it goes up to 79 degrees.

The earth is doing one of two things. We are either entering an Ice Age or leaving an Ice Age. guess what, we are leaving an Ice Age so that means what? THE EARTH IS WARMING UP!!! Imagine that!!! If we were headed for an Ice Age, the earth would be cooling.

I watched a program with a bunch of these smart people on there and they finally talked to one little man who sat at the table. he said he agreed with the other scientist at the table, but had one issue.

He said the pollution from Mt St Helen's put 10's of millions of tons of sulfur dioxide and other pollutants into the air when it blew its top, more than man has put into the air since the Industrial Revolution. Hawaii has a volcano that has been erupting for 11 years, doing the same thing. SO, do we put catalytic converters on volcanoes???

No, the earth will cleanse itself if we just help her a little along the way. We need to use common sense, recycle where we can, and reduce what we pollute with, but not stop living.

You can't ask someone to care about something they don't even believe exists. They believe "The Greenhouse Effect" is pure and utter nonsense. I heard a commentator debunk global warming by saying that glaciers have been melting for 8000 years it's just a coincidence that they've recessed more than 15% in the last 10 yrs.

That is BS that is over blown by the wwf (world wildlife federation) one of the biggest environmental exaggerators out there.

Don't misunderstand me I am an environmentalist, but this sort of junk does the movement more harm than good. It provides fodder for the neo cons and big business to ridicule the rest of us with.

My home temp is set at 65*F, I consolidate trips, and car pool. Bikes are not very useful as I work very long distances from home. My car is however well maintained and kept tuned up.

You can't really make an impact on the environment by riding a bike while everyone else pours gas into their truck by the gallon. The only solution is massive industrial change. We could do it if we put down a plan and stuck to it.

Really??? Where did you get this fascinating data from?

I'm a republican and drive a Honda Accord.

Try grouping large diverse populations into small niches in an attempt to prove your inane point. It makes you look sooooo smart.

Yes they care, but they also care about jobs for poeple to work at, and they are concerned about peoples ability to afford items also. They balance things, not out to destroy our nation but making it non competititive
