There is no unbiased news source. Every news organization has their biases, and ever organization has a market that they have to keep happy.

A "propaganda machine" implies that they are owned or controlled by a government agency. I don't think that either is controlled by the government, or agents of the government.

CNN simply plays to its audience, and Fox plays to theirs.

CNN and FOX are both legitimate news sources. Both have guests from both sides, and both have their leanings. The now bankrupt Air America, Move On, and such are the propaganda machines. Also traditional sources who omit the truth such as the New York Times, ABC and NBC have prostituted themselves to their political agenda.

I don't think either of them are propaganda machines. Their editorial staffs have their opinions. I'd like to see less mingling of the editorials and the actual presentation of news, particularly on fox.

I can form my own opinions and it disgusts me to see anyone presenting themselves as a journalists engaging in unambiguous editorializing.

Editorial pieces should be clearly presented as such and not slipped in with news reporting. Yes, I'm afraid the average person can't tell the difference.

They're news org.'s with their own political leaning. CNN seems to be less politically biased than Fox, but there's still an agenda there.

They are news organizations. They may not publish all the news you like, but they are still news organizations. As someone else said, every news organization has it's bias, it has to. There is too much information on the net not to have a bias.
