What is wrong with "Jelly"??? I think it's cute! My daughter's (full) name is Chloe Elizabeth Concepcion and I call her "Toasty" (?????????) ............ what the heck does that have to do with her name??? Nothing! But one day, I for some reason called her "Toasty" and it stuck! She is very fair, blond hair with blue eyes and doesn't even look like "toast" but that's what I call her! I really like "Jelly"!!!

p.s..... I have an aunt who's name is Trinidad (the Spanish version of your daughter's name) and her nick-name is Trini. She is a very prominant professor in the State of California and has brains to die for.................. she has obvioiusly gotten very far with the name of Trini! but I like Jelly better :)~

You yourself admit to having trouble with the name you gave her. Why don't you skip what you might call her and brace yourself for all the nicknames she get from her classmates in a few years. If you start to call her something, regardless of what it is, the one person she should go to for comfort will just be another person that makes fun of her. Growing up today is hard enough, so why don't you try it. She may have a few names for you too later on. I have 3 grown children that only remember the stupid things I did and said when they were young. All the wonderful memories I have seem to have slipped their minds. Try explaining Trinity and where it came from will occupy a good part of your time very soon.

The only good nicknames are the ones that come naturally.
Whatever you call her without thinking is what her nickname will become.
But the others are also right, you don't have to have a nickname cos Trinity is a cool name.
My sis was called Half Pint cos she was little.
My aunt was called Bub her whole life. I never had a nickname and survived :)

It can also be something that has more to do with her. As her personality and character emerges, and even her body grows, something may come naturally.

Rabbit, Snoopy, Turkey, Bealuh (baloo after the bear in jungle book), Tiny, Sunshine, Pollyanna Pearl, etc are all nicknames of people. Some famous. The names may sound silly to outsiders but are truly terms of endearment for their owners because their family & friends called used them affectionately. Only people special to me are allowed to call me by my middle name because it was always used in that regard

Also dont pressure yourself, its not mandatory and something will come to you.

My daughter's nick name is Zooby-its Africann for a hairy legged butterfly- my Englishman hubby was born in So Africa. My son and I call her Zoo or zooby-dooby. Her real name is Summer. Maybe something having to do with you or family or her personality----my girlfriend when I was small was Bebe-because she was the baby of 8 kids.....
