This guy has been a bloviating blowhard for years. I'd be embarassed to admit that I listen to him and believe what he says. He talks like he's so damn smart on every subject and time after time he's been proven wrong yet he still has followers who are like zombies. They hang on every word that buffoon says. I don't get it.

Limbaugh is one of my most unfavorite slime ball. He's a loud mouth and one of the most opinionated people I've ever heard (and I hear him as little as possible). His voice nauseates me and (in case you haven't decided this yet) I also don't get it.

When you research the issues you end up smart. Rush is able to defend his positions with facts. For instance Michael J Fox in his own book wrote that he does stop taking his meds for events like his appearance before Congress. It is likely he also did for the ads which is what Rush said. Another point Rush made is that the Missouri state constitution amendment is not about stem cell research as it is portrayed, but about human cloning. If you get your opinion about Rush from news sources like ABC then you don't get what was really said. Fox was not mocked or belittled at all. Lies and misrepresentations in the ad he made were confronted. That is How Rush approaches things. And he is proven correct nearly all the time. I'm not the least bit embarrassed to listen to him. There are other conservatives I won't listen to and there are liberals I hear plenty of.

Limbaugh (or Limpjaw) is to Journalism what George W. Bush is to Government

Both are followed and fawned upon by the Sheeple.

Both are Pomp and no Circumstance.

People are attracted to negative news and a firey response to it. When right-wing nutcases rap about illogical statements like..."they hate us for our freedom", or "those souless, Godless liberal" it often accompanies firey and passionate speeches that get people energized. These fire-breathing lunatics strike the patriotism nurve by telling us that "they all hate us."

The other side, meaning those "liberals" don't have firey speeches to rely on anymore. The patriotism label has already been taken by the right-wingers and has been associated with war-mongering. So, we use patriotism to talk about the anti-war message. But that is not as exciting as the chance to kill some "bad guys". Of course we could say that God told Bush to kill hundreds of thousand of innocent people. What part of the Bible did that command come from? Or we could smear Christianity for what these right-wing freaks do in its name just as the right-wingers smear Islam for what they assume the crazies over in Iraq are doing in Islam's name. But that will alienate us from Christians who obviously will not associate Christianity with violence even though these right-wingers are using it everyday to call for a crusade, and in many ways are already conducting a crusade of sorts.

It is a pickle that we are in. I don't have a quick solution. In a country like Pakistan, for example, as the economy improves (it already is improving by leaps and bounds) the extremists over there will simply vanish as they will have no need to exist anymore. But we're already ecnomically sound, how do we get rid of our extremists? Evolution I suppose...!

I don't even pay attention to him. He is a sad, puffy-faced man. And no, I don't see how anyone would listen to him.
