There are a number of cultures where the main meal is later than 7 PM traditionally, and they seem to have survived quite well.

Nobody has ever tested whether or not they would have been even better off if they had eaten their last meal prior to that hour.

And of course you burn calories when you sleep, and the amount that turns to fat depends on the total calories eaten all day, not just those eaten late at night.

Best not to eat before you go to bed. I'd say at least 3 hours, regardless of what time you go. If you regularly go to bed, say, at 1:00 AM, then 10:00 PM would be a reasonable limit.

Sleeping on a full stomach tells the body to store the food as fat. And you'll get fat.

yes, its true they really ask you not to eat after 7pm. cause most aren't active after that hour usually you'll sit down after eating watch a show or two then fall asleep so everything you just ate is literally just sitting there

Studies have shown it doesn't matter what time you eat. That whole thing about not eating before you go to sleep is a lie. If you're hungry, and your stomach is growling, you need to eat. If you're eating after 7 out of boredom, don't eat. You need to keep your metabolism going, so eat something like a cheese stick, or some light popcorn...something not too bad for you.

It really is best not to eat after 7 pm. A person is usually not active at night, so the food metabolizes into fat instead of energy. I changed my eating habits, don't eat after 5, and I lost 30 pounds in 4 months. Eat early, be active, don't snack. And don't drink soda. It helps!

I have heard not to eat after 6pm. Probably not much difference in the 2. But yes it is true, if you eat within a certain time before bedtime, it teaches your body you won't be burning those calories right away and to store them. thus causing weight gain. in addition to that it slows the metabolism decreasing energy levels, and also causing weight gain

No, that is true, your supposed to eat earlier in the evening so your food has time to digest the food before you go to bed, if you do try to eat before 7 every night you will be surprised how much weight you can lose. When your asleep your body can't burn fat, so if you eat before you go to bed then it just sits there, if you eat earlier your body has time to burn it. Good Luck I hope I helped

*Sits here at 7:20 PM eating a Wendys burger* lol and that's the truth.
It is true. it's not good to eat so close to bedtime as it just sits there and turns into fat. It doesn't digest as easily and could interupt your sleep.

It is a myth, as so many other pieces of "good advice" are. Judge them for yourself by doing the opposite. If it doesn't harm you, you know...
