i'm seriously considering majoring in veterinary medicine when i go to college next year. but before i send my applications to universities with pre-vet programs, i'd like to know what i should expect from the courses i'll need to take. how challenging are the biology courses and that sort of stuff...

any type of feedback you guys can give me would be great

For pre-veterinary medicine, plan on courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Genetics, Nutrition, Microbiology, and the basic math/English/speech classes. If you go the Animal science route, you will also get courses concerning that. As for how challenging biology courses are.... If you like biology (or animal related courses), it might not be so bad. Depending on your college path, you might not have much in the way of biology (I never had "biology" in undergrad). Nevertheless, the courses I mentioned can be tough. It is hard to describe since everyone has different experiences. I really like Anatomy, but some people don't like working on cadavers/body parts.

I hope that helps you somewhat.

By the way.... you could always contact some of the pre-veterinary programs and ask to speak to people in the departments. They could help give you better insight into their programs.
