Well, Edward. Everyones imperfect including you. You probably don't know an award winning rapper so you shouldn't judge them and what they do. They are thanking God for their fortune and the strength to be able to what they do, which is not easy. I don't agree or disagree. You can either listen to their music and shut up about it, or don't and shut up about it.

however they rap approximately evil component some rappers are extremely church goers. via that i propose they have been raised believing in god and trusting him. So whilst they get an award for a music they thank god and there momma. in many strategies that's fairly ironic using fact the are thanking god for permitting them to communicate there evil. Now for occasion the christian rappers thank god for thanking god. we are unlikely to win this combat yet as long as god is being known we would desire to consistently all be happy christian or no longer.

A curse word is really just a "slander word". Cursing is when you say things like "I wish she would die". When they cuss its to better express them selves on what they are saying. But when they say thank god its real...most of them have been through alot and just came out a survivor. So if it weren't for god they wouldn't have the award. I'm just glad they see god as the reason.

Yeah I know...I call it Sweet & Sour Syndrome. It's a disorder in which their spoken beliefs are completely separated from the way they live and work (if you can call rapping "work"). They aren't even aware of the separation in most cases. This syndrome also affects many country singers--they'll have an album full of cheatin' and drinkin' songs, then have a song like "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" right in the middle!

Good question! When your ego is that big, you tend to forget how a true relationship with God can be. Your secular addiction's tend to cloud your spiritual addiction's to the point where you justify your fame by thanking God. It also looks great to thank God in the publics eye. Sometimes the public will have almost sympathy for the indivudual thanking God. Thanking God can act as a decoy to the public.

Because they're Christians, and the majority of Christians are hypocrites (sorry, it's true). There's several religious kids in my neighborhood, I should know. One minute they will read a bible or claim that someone's "going to hell" for something, and the next they'll be talking about sex in an extremely impolite manner, dropping "f-bombs" frequently. Some "holy people," eh?

People in general are so far away from the fluffy white clouds and angelic concept of "God" and Heaven that most churches still love to preach about. They can no longer relate to that. If I am going to talk to you at all or get you to listen to me the first thing I need to do is get your attention. Vulgarity may seem extreme to you, but it is one way to do it. And when people talk about promiscuity and drugs etc, it may seem as though they are idealizing the lifestyle when in reality they may be trying to point out the problem. God does deserve thanks for anybody's success-even life itself.

I think its the same reason why people go to church, then go home and become the total opposite. They want the easy way out, + rappers have to do those sort of things to get publicity. Swearing, to me, isn't a big deal... unless im at work, or at school, then i wouldn't do it. Also; I can't think of many african americans who aren't christian, or catholic.

you need to at least capitalize the word God in your question.... but anyway that's an interesting one ...maybe because they then acknowledge that someone greater than themselves got them that far and it dawns on them and their like God thank you for getting me off that street corner and for allowing me to get rich and help out somebody who's looking up to me.....
