i will only show you one but i will explain it for you
8(z+4) = 5(13+z)
8z + 32 = 65 + 5z----do the distrubutive property
-5z - 5z-----subtract 5z from both sides
3z +32 = 65
-32 -32------subtract 32 from both sides
3z = 33
divide by 3 on both sides
z = 11

No problem, it's really not hard :)

Here's the first one:
11N-3=9+5N

What you want to try and do is end up with an equation that looks like "N=some number". In other words, you want N on one side of the equals sign and numbers on the other side of the equals sign.

Let's go:
1) Subtract 9 from both sides. This will make the left side look like 11N-12 and the right side look like 5N. (Before, it was 9+5N, but we took away 9, so now we just have 5N). Our equation now is 11N-12=5N
2) Now we will subtract 11N from both sides. The left side will look like just -12, since we took away the 11N part. The right side will be -6N. (5N minus 11N is -6N, right? Just like 5-11=-6). Our equation so far is -12=-6N.
3) Remember that we wanted to get N by itself? Right now there's a -6 in front of it. To get rid of that -6, we have to DIVIDE. Right now, the -6 is multiplying, it is -6 times N. To get rid of it, we do the opposite of multiplying, which is dividing. We divide by -6 on each side. On the right side, we get just N. On the left side, we get -12 divided by -6, which equals 2 (just put in in a calculator). Our final equation is 2=N (or N=2)!!

Let's try the second one:
-9N-12=8-4N.
1) It doesn't matter what order you go in, but I'm going to start with adding 9N to each side. The left side currently has a -9N. If we ADD 9N to this, we'll just get 0, or nothing. The left side will look like -12, and the right side will look like 8+5N (it used to be -4N, but we added 9N to it, so now we have 5N on that side). Our equation so far is -12=8+5N.
2) To get rid of that 8 on the right side, I will subtract 8 from each side. The left will be -20, and the right will be 5N. Our equation is -20=5N.
3) To get N by itself, we have to divide by 5 on each side. The left side is -4 (since -20 divided by 5 is -4) and the right side is just N. Congrats! Your final equation is -4=N (or N=-4).

The next two equations are similar, except something new is added in. This new thing is in the parenthesis (). See them? This means you have to DISTRIBUTE before you begin to solve the problem. Here's how you distribute:
6(X+2).
This means that you must distribute the 6 to the X and the 2. Multiply the 6 by the X, AND multiply the 6 by the 2. You'll get 6X+12.
Here's another example:
5(Y+3).
If you distribute the 5 to the Y and the 3, you'll get 5Y+15.

So, when you see parenthesis () in an equation, you must distribute that part of the equation before you begin to solve like I showed you earlier.

Good luck!! :)

This is the steps to the 1st problem:

11n-3=9+5n
-5n -5n
___________
6n-3=9
+3 +3
________
6n=12
(divide 6n on both sides)
n= 2

That's how you basically do all of the probelms. If you need anymore help e-mail me at basketballgrlbri@yahoo.com

The answer to the third equation in -9......
parenthesis first then exponents followed by multiplication and division ending with addition and subtraction. always in this order. pemdas

3x-7=8+6x+12
-3x-7=8+12
-3x-7=20
