only so much money can be printed and in circulation before it begins to lose value. if the govt printed enough money to give to everyone so we would all have lots of it, it would all be worthless and we would be in the same, if not worse, situation than we are in now.

Back when I took economics in high school the question was asked why didn't the gov give everyone a million dollars each. That way everyone would have the same amount of money and no one would be poor.
The reason is that everyone who hates their job would quit immediately and then how would anything get done? Everything would fall apart unless we had enough trained immigrants from mexico and/or robots to do everything that needs to be done.

It was tried in Germany before WW1 and people were taking their paycheck money home in wheelbarrows and burning it for fuel because it wouldn't buy enough firewood for 2 days. That's where we got the expression "it's not worth the paper it's printed on".

Your idea would be just giving money to everyone, rather than giving anything of value to them. As a simple example: If you earned $500 on your own, and I earned $50 on my own, and the government just randomly gives both you and me $100 extra, then you would have $600 and I would have $150. While you did 10 times as much work/earning/whatever as me, you would only have 4 times as much money as me. That would ruin the value of your hard-earned money.

Because for the most part , the people that are in "poverty". are there because they dont know how to make money, nor how to use it to their benefit.
So just giving them money wont keep them out of poverty.
A perfect example of this are the very high percentage of lottery, and lawsuit winners that became millionaires, only to become bankrupt within a few years.
No matter how "nice" you want to be, if you cant get the person to do for themselves, they will never get anywhere.

Becuase the more money that is printed it becomes worth even less. We had this problem right after the Revolution War. We printed so much money that people could not get what they thought their money was worth. Even though I do wish this wasn't so.

The dollar would lose it's buying power is there was more printed and given out.
Poverty is a lifestyle. Give poor people more money and chances are many of them will blow it and continue to live in poverty.

That would be called inflation. Like having a sack full of money with a hole in bottom and through which you are loosing it.
